一、borrow 动词。意思是“向人借”。多作及物动词。borrow是指“借入”。例如：
Can I borrow your pen ? 我可以借用你的钢笔吗？
Of course he would be ashamed to borrow often.当然，他经常借东西感到惭愧。
Many words in English have been borrowed from French.许多英语的单词是法语的外来词。
二、lend 动词。意思是“借给、给予、赋予”。作及物动词。lend是指“借出”。例如：
He often lends money to his elder sister.他经常把钱借给他姐姐。
I only came to thank you and return the coat you lent me. 我只是来谢谢你，并把你借给我的外套还给你。
These people were lending aid to the enemy , whether they realized it or not. 这些人是否认识到了他们正在给敌人帮助。
